About Bochum
The city of Bochum is located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in western Germany. Düsseldorf Airport, located approximately 50 km west of Bochum, is the primary international airport serving the city. Dortmund Airport, located roughly 35 km to the northeast, and Cologne Bonn Airport, located roughly 80 km to the southwest, are two other international airports in the area.
Monthly living costs: 700 – 900 €. That includes the cost of accommodation (300 – 600€), Food and groceries (180 – 300€), transportation (70 – 90€), and health insurance (100 – 120€). Like many German university towns, Bochum has a lower cost of living for students than larger cities such as Munich or Berlin. It’s important to keep in mind that these figures are based on average expenses and that individual costs may vary based on lifestyle preferences and other factors.
Bochum has a population of about 365,000, with about 60,000 students. As a result, the city benefits from a strong and diverse student population that enhances its social and cultural life. In addition, busy and noisy student areas such as the Bermuda Triangle can develop at night. Overall, the large student population enriches and diversifies Bochum’s society, but it also presents some difficulties for students living and studying there.
Thank you so much❤️🙏
