About Konstanz

The city of Konstanz is located in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. Zurich Airport (ZRH), located about 70 km from Konstanz in Switzerland, is the nearest major airport. Stuttgart Airport (STR), which is about 170 km away, and Munich Airport (MUC), which is about 230 km away, are two other international airports that can be reached by car.

Monthly living costs: 800 – 1000 €. That includes the cost of accommodation (350 – 700€), Food and groceries (180 – 300€), transportation (70 – 90€), and health insurance (100 – 120€). Konstanz is known as a relatively expensive city in Germany, especially when compared to other college towns. This is due to a number of factors, including the city’s location on Lake Constance, the comparatively high demand for student housing, and its widespread appeal as a tourist attraction.

A rough estimate puts the population of Konstanz at 87,000. The city serves as a center for academic activity in the region, thanks to its many research institutions and universities. As a result, Konstanz has a large student population, with approximately 12,000 students enrolled in the city’s higher education institutions.
